Roof Inspection

Regular roof inspections and surveys are an essential task for home and business owners. As your building’s roof is – quite literally – its first line of defense against the elements, it’s important that you regularly check to ensure that it is in solid, working condition. But, it’s not just about having a quick look-see. It’s a much deeper process, requiring the assistance of experts who are capable of identifying common problems and, more importantly, recommending solutions that will keep your interior safe and extend the life of your roof. In this post, we’re going to take a closer look at the inspection process and discuss how it results in a healthier, longer-lasting roof.

1. Walkthrough

The first step is a walkthrough of your property to inspect ceilings, attics and other roof-adjacent structures for damage.

2. Perimeter check

After the walkthrough, your inspector will perform a quick walk around the outside of your home to search for any roof hardware that may have become dislodged. They will also examine siding and eaves, to see if there is any evidence of staining or dry rot.

3. Roof inspection

Performing the actual roof inspection is a little more in depth. Searching the chimney, vents and flashing, your inspector will work to identify common problems, such as open seams, sun damage and structural depressions.

4. Gutter inspection

After the roof has been inspected, the gutters will be checked to ensure that they have been properly installed, cleaned of debris and maintained.
